Since then, Motorola has commented on the speculation and confirmed that the Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be receiving regular security patch updates. It’s worth noting the review units that media outlets got is currently up to date with security bulletins until May 2016. Additionally, review devices will be updated to reflect these security patches before the July 28 release date.
The Moto Z will launch on Verizon for $624 or $26 per month and the Z Force will launch for $720 or $30 per month. The Z Force (which at this time remains a US-only Verizon exclusive) carries a $96 premium over the Moto Z and offers a 35% larger battery, higher-resolution camera, and Moto’s ShatterShield display. Everything else is the same on both devices.
Pre-orders for both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force Droid editions are open now with Verizon in the US and will hit Verizon retail stores starting on July 28.
