That said, the Honor Note 8 manages to be even bigger, coming with a 6.6-inch screen. The phablet will go official at an event in China on August 1. This has been revealed by Huawei's sub-brand itself, through the invite you can see to the left. In it the screen's resolution is revealed, even if the use of the term "2K" is cringeworthy. What Huawei wants to say is that the 6.6-inch display in the Honor Note 8 will have QHD (2,560x1,440) resolution.
But that's hardly a surprise for us, since the TENAA listing has already given it away. It's also told us that the Honor Note 8 will pack 4GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage, a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP selfie snapper, and a 4,400 mAh battery. It will be powered by Huawei's Kirin 955 SoC (with a 2.5 GHz octa-core CPU) and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Apparently there will be another version of the device too, slightly cheaper, featuring the lower-clocked Kirin 950, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. This will go for CNY 1,999 ($299 or €272), while the higher-end model will be priced at CNY 2,299 ($344, €313). Both come with a fingerprint scanner on the back and a USB Type-C port.
