Today Verizon has started pushing out a new update to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge units it's sold. The new release is software version VRU4CPD2 for both devices, and you can manually check for its availability on your S6 or S6 edge (pictured below) by going to Settings > About device > Software updates, in case you haven't already received a notification about it.

The update comes with the May security patches, but also fixes Google Play app update and download issues, some Visual Voice Mail access problems, and it even removes the Amazon Music app (less bloatware isn't something you see often after applying a new software update).

Google search is now available in the Settings menu, a "Send Premium SMS" field has been added to the Application manager's settings, and when a USB cable is plugged into the phone the default mode will automatically show other USB options. From this point on, you can answer video calls as just a voice call - when you do so, the audio will be routed to the earpiece, whereas when you answer as a video call audio will come from the speaker by default.

Finally, there's a new setting that will show you how much RAM is being used by apps and how much is free, if you look at Settings > Applications > Application manager > More.

As always, the over-the-air rollout of the update may take a few days to conclude and reach all the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge units out there.
