Just today we've had a confirmation of sorts regarding the Note7 name, and now a prototype has seemingly been caught browsing the web. And this has revealed the fact that Samsung is currently testing Note7 units running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and not Android N.
The image you can see above portrays the user agent string of the Samsung SM-N930A, which should be AT&T's version of the next Note (since its Note5 has the model number SM-N920A). And it's clear that it's running the latest iteration of Marshmallow, and not the Android N preview that Google has promised will become final by this summer. When the search giant outed the first developer preview for that version of its OS much sooner in the year than in 2015, many were hopeful that Samsung's fall flagship (the Note7) will run it from day one. Now though, that's not so sure anymore.
Either way, the Note7 should obviously be a high-end beast when it comes to specs, perhaps sporting the yet-unseen Snapdragon 823 SoC, 6GB of RAM, and a dual-edge screen.
