Samsung degraded the screens of the Galaxy S22 and S22 + after the announcement: now they do not support a screen refresh rate of less than 48 Hz

With the introduction of the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra smartphones last week, Samsung announced that the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ are equipped with Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with an adaptive frequency of 10 to 120 Hz. However, 3 days later, Samsung silently changed the details of the press release, indicating that the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ were equipped with Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays ranging from 48Hz to 120Hz.

Changes were noticed by the founder of research companies Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch Ross Young. In new marketing materials published by Samsung, the Galaxy S22 and S22+ smartphones feature displays with variable refresh rates from 48G to 120Hz, just like last year’s Galaxy S21 and S21+.

Samsung degraded the screens of the Galaxy S22 and S22 + after the announcement: now they do not support a screen refresh rate of less than 48 Hz

Samsung has silently changed the details of its Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ after it opened pre-orders for both phones on February 10 in different regions of the world. At the same time, information that all three smartphones support screen refresh rates from 10 to 120 Hz has spread to various sites.

There have already been concerns that the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ have worse battery life than their predecessors, as the S22 and S22+ come with 3700mAh and 4500mAh batteries respectively, while the S21 and S21+ were equipped with larger batteries with a capacity of 4000 mAh and 4800 mAh. It was expected that the energy efficient 10-120 Hz display could compensate for the 300 mAh reduction in battery capacity
